Disappointed 😔 Actually a fan of Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao. Had the $38.80 Buddy set for 2. Thinking it will be worth the value as the food was always good with the 拉面小笼包 outlets. A choice of 1 from Appetizer/ Wok specialty/ Vegetable. Appetizer: Chilled bean curd with century egg & pork floss. Standard taste & flavor of the dish. 7/10 Wok specialty: Numbing spicy Szechuan chicken. Expected more chicken cubes but there is more of the crispy fried dough than skin. Overall, this dish is more like an upscale KFC popcorn chicken with mala flavor 😂 More meat needed for this price point. 4/10 Vegetable: Chinese spinach with Trio Egg in superior broth. Another disappointment 🙂‍↔️ The broth doesn’t taste superior (上汤) more plain tasting. The spinach is fresh. Quality is sufficient for 2 pax. 6/10 Top-up $3.80: Dessert, Black Sesame glutinous rice ball in ginger soup. Always like a good ginger soup & rice ball can help to better my day. Will be nice to have 3 instead of 2 rice ball. 7/10 Total cost: VERDICT: Will not go for the Buddy set again. or will just go for the ala carte dishes.
