My 1-star review is for the take out (on top of our dine in). 1 of 3 pastas has an 'abnormal' increase amount of ham n mushroom. At a closer look, the spaghetti is not acceptable. They were broken and very little compare to all the pasta we had (dine in and take away). It really seems like the ham and mushroom is to cover the short fall.

Horrible service. Came on the 1st of Jan, at around 4:30 pm to have some quick dessert in celebration of my partners birthday. One of the waitress served us and ask if we want ice or warm water. We mention we want 2 ice water. After a while, the water never came and I had to asked from another waitress after our desserts came. That was still fine considering sometimes people do forget. However, when our desserts came, we specifically mentioned that we wanted to change certain ice cream flavours but it was done incorrectly. The original was chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. Wanted to change the strawberry to salted butterscotch but instead, our chocolate got changed out. Adding on, there wasn't a lot of unique ice cream flavours to choose considering a lot werent available at that point of time. Lastly, we realised that there wasn't any cutleries so we asked for some cutleries. And somehow, after some wait, it just didn't came and we had to ask a second time. It will be better if the staff could had better communication within themselves cuz that seems to be lacking quite a bit.

Enjoyed the chicken waffles. Better if the syrup is served at the side. Hope we remember to request next time. Brandon was really diligent and attentive with all smiles. Will be back for the mooncakes~

Came for a weekday lunch. There was ample seats but service was a little slow. The usual fare with lunch set is a steal. Ordered the fried chicken in a basket (not shown in photo) which was nicely cooked. Nothing special but worth the price.

Ok, I'm ashamed of myself for not reviewing this for over twenty years. This branch of Swensen's is more than just a family restaurant to me. I celebrated countless birthdays, met up with ex colleagues, and had a few farewells. I had memorable conversations with staff such as Elizabeth, Christopher (great memory that lad has!) and countless others that I cannot put a name to. The fare here is comfortable food. Ice cream, fries, baked rice, fish and chips. My favourite main course of baked fish menuiere came, and left and then returned over the years. Seasonal specials ice cream sundae, ice cream birthday cakes. Oh, how I miss my favourite Old Fashioned Vanilla. They still have my Thin Mint to keep me around. It's going to take a while to find all the photos I took here, so be patient. Here's to another twenty and more years of food, drinks and service at West Mall.
